Patriotism to one’s country is understood, and need not be expressed. If one feels inclined to overtly express such, then one is expressing nationalism, not patriotism.

Patriotism becomes nationalism when it get excessive. The word patriotism is being used by both the far right to the extreme left, to elicit  blind allegiance. When fueled by corporate run news media, creating the manifestation of demonstrations opposing any issue as persuaded by  the media.

fas·cism – noun
a governmental system led-by /owned by, a dictator / or specific group  having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

This may be an old cartoon depicting the GOP, but it still rings true with current Democratic leadership, with MSNBC at their helm. The only difference is that the public is no longer comatose.

Where is our government taking us, always question authority. After all they get their authority from us.
So just who is running our government?
The power of wealth is, through controlling how money flows.
